I had an original Arctic Air that quit on me and I must say this newer version is much better. It doesn't use as much water and blows out colder air. It is a little noisier on high speed though.

I work in a historical building, and even though A/C was put in the building, my office gets hot and muggy. I had seen these before, and thought I would give it a try.I received it on Saturday, tried it out at home at my computer . . . worked great, almost too great. It is Monday now, and just brought it into work, already can tell this little thing is defiantly worth every cent I spent on it.This is a personal cooler, not big enough to cool an entire room, so don't get this if you are looking for a room A/C or Swamp Cooler, for that you will have to get something a bit bigger and appropriate.Pros: 1) Compact 2) Gets really cool (even cooler if you wet and freeze the filter) 3) Affordable (for the comfort level it provides)Cons: 1) Fast speed on fan can get a little noisyHope this helps.

I live in South Florida so, it's next to impossible with our humidity to find any portable A/C type unit (under $400) that can have any impact whatsoever. I've definitely wasted quite a bit of money over the years in desperation when I have to go out on the porch, or the home A/C has needed a repair. This little guy is different from all the others I've had for its features and functional features. You can use the 7 different LED light options to set the mood in any darker room or at night. I bought this to put on my nightstand while sleeping during the day (I work overnight) and it works great! I freeze the filter (after running it under the faucet) so I instantly have cool air coming out as soon as I turn it on. Stays cool and definitely helps me sleep on hot days.

This thing comes in super handy. I live in AZ and it's so hot and dry. First night using this was a huge relief from both. The fan doesn't blow very hard but it's enough to have it a few feet away.

To be honest if you are using it at your desk or night stand for when you go to sleep it gets the job done. For best results, Drench the filter in water and leave in freezer for an hour. It cools really well.

If you�re looking for a product that cools a whole room, this isn�t for you and it�s not what it�s made for. My father refuses to get air conditioning in his living room but this is perfect for him to keep next to his chair while watching tv or reading the paper. Keeps him so cool, he loves it. We just bought the second one since the first died after 2 summers. What do you expect for the price. We will buy another after this one dies, so worth it!

Best purchase I've made this summer. Keeps my personal space cool when sitting at desk. I sit in part of house that gets hot in summer and puts a chill in my space and keeps me cool. Works great for "hot flashes" as well! I keep the filter clean by immersing in vinegar/water solution every 3 or 4 days and rinse. I bought another filter so I had ability to always have a filter available when cleaning and freezing the other.The only drawback is the design of the vents. They are hard to put back in if one pops out while cleaning, especially if more than one pops out. They pop out individually. I managed to get them back in but it was a struggle. I would like to see a more stable, one-piece design that can be popped out and cleaned, the vents remaining where they should stay. The individual vents are a hassle to clean and put back in, one by one.

I have to admit that when I took this out of the box I thought is this for a doll house?? So little, but when I used it it was great so far, the real test will be when the Texas heat is 100+ and this is in a room that was the garage remodeled into a bedroom. Had a window unit but HOA said nope can't be visible from the street. So we will see. Got pretty chilly last night (May) and had to turn it off. Hopefull

This product is real good.The air is just as cold as the air conditioner. Since summer is coming, the weather is getting hotter and hotter. When this product came, I immediately opened it and used it for the night. The air blowing out of this portable air conditioner is really cold. It does not make the sound when it is turned on, unlike the conditioner which makes a lot of noise. This thing also comes with a humidifier. It is easy to carry around especially when you go to a hot place for vacation.

This little air conditioner is perfect for areas where the central air is not reaching as well or for working in a small office area, etc. You can put it anywhere you want and the water tray is at the top, reducing the possibility of leakage onto your furniture, etc. Put ice in the top along with the water and freeze the filter for a few minutes to make it even cooler. I use this in my work areas with my candle business because my parents like the house warm and I need it cool when I'm working. Problem solved!

This is easy to use, however, I do put ice cubes into the tray with water to help make it cooler while I fall asleep. Even on low, I can hear its fan going, kind of like white noise. I have put the filter in the freezer to give it a boost. It does not cool down my whole room the way I like it, but it does help. I have turned it on high before I went into my room and felt an incredible difference from before without it on. I'll update my review after summer.

Easy to use, due to uneven air conditioning in the building, I found it very suitable for my office, warmer than expected. Providing good cooling air also helps to humidify the area. It is also very quiet and provides a good source of white noise. How long the water tank can last depends on how long you run. As others have mentioned, it is not a complete AC device, but it does provide good cooling air and is ideal for closed areas. In addition, if you use the LED light in the children's room, you can touch it well because it can double as a night light.

Even without freezing the filter, I still get pretty cold when using it. My child knocked it off our dresser and I thought it shattered into pieces, but I snapped it back together very easily - so it�s also quite durable!

I am going through menopause so I get hot flashes I'd love this thing I did what it said I put the water in it and I chilled the filter in the freezer and it's kept me really cool during the hot flashes especially at night on my bedside table I would put extra ice cubes in where the water goes and it would keep me cool all night long next summer I'm probably going to buy me a couple of more that way I have some beside me in the living room not just in my bedroom a lot cheaper than air conditioner's and worked just as well they have a very powerful fan which keeps you cool so if you're looking for a little relief from your hot flashes ladies give this thing a try or just if you're in a hot office you will not be sorry

Just got this today! Put the filter in the freezer for 20 minutes and added some water and pulled the filter back in and fired it up! Works really well next to my bed. Will definitely help keep me cool while I sleep during the day after working graveyards! I was worried the night light wouldn�t turn off but turns off and the fan is not too loud and is soothing.

This thing is the jam! Just plan on using it for yourself inside close to you. I use it at my desk at work pointed right at me. I put ice cubes and water in the top and have the element soaked in water then frozen. I run it for hours.

It's amazing, I love this thing. Granted I did follow the suggestion and freeze the filter, OMG, it's cold as winter. It's like Jack Frost is visiting me eveynight. It does not cool down a room, but it allows me breathe cold air everynight and sleep better. I've only had it on low, and it stays on until morning.Worth the buy in my opinion.

My room on a normal summer's day feels like the sun sought shelter in it. With this in my room with a frozen filter in it, it started cooling it down within minutes. It's colder air on high and nice breeze on low. Love it. Easy to set up, turn on and set. Easy instructions for use, cleaning it and maintain it. A little humming noise, but easy to ignore. My pup is unsure of it, but loves the cool air.
